The 1999 Diamond Back Assault 24 BMX features a full chromoly frame with oversized tubing, paired with a matching full chromoly fork using a 1-1/8” threadless steerer, 1-1/4” blades, and a chrome finish. It comes fitted with cruiser handlebars offering a 6” rise in chrome, held by an alloy A-head stem (1-1/8”). Braking is handled by a Pro-Max alloy linear-pull brake with matching lever, while the drivetrain uses a DB three-piece chromoly 180mm crank in chrome with a 41-tooth alloy sprocket, matched to alloy platform pedals. The wheelset consists of alloy 24x1.75” 36-hole rims with alloy hubs, wrapped in Comp III-style 24x1.75” tyres front and rear. Comfort comes via a padded seat with alloy seatpost.

As a general rule, bikes made in Taiwan had around a 8 month production lead timeline before they were delivered and sold in bike shops around the world. Generally around May of each year, factories would switch production to making models for the following year.
