Eastern Bikes was started in 1996 by three freestyle flatland riders from North Carolina Keith King, Jon Byers and Mike Corley. The Eastern Commando was their first production BMX frame. In 2021, Eastern Bikes team rider Kenneth Tencio finished 4th in the first ever BMX competition at the Japan 2020 Olympics.
