DK Bicycles started in 1979 because young rider, Bill Danishek from Dayton, Ohio kept breaking the stems on his bike. Bill's dad Charlie, a toolmaker, set out to machine his son a stem that could withstand the abuse of BMX riding. It wasn't long before other local riders wanted one for themselves. The rest is history.
