Introduced in 1994 as Haro’s affordable first 20-inch BMX, the Blaster returned for a third season in 1996 as the junior entry point to the range. Its low-profile high-tensile steel frame, 16.2-inch top tube and 26.75-pound weight were proportioned for shorter, younger riders progressing from smaller-wheeled bikes. A relaxed 71-degree head angle and 72-degree seat angle promoted predictable handling, while the high-tensile fork and Haro BMX handlebar gave the Blaster the appearance of Haro’s larger machines. Practical equipment reflected its beginner role: a rear coaster brake offered familiar foot-operated stopping, backed by a Dia-Compe MX-844 Bulldog caliper and MX-122 hand lever. The compact 140 mm one-piece crank drove a 44-tooth Fusion Disk Drive, with resin pedals suited to developing riders. Chrome-plated 36-hole steel rims, ACS low-flange alloy hubs and Haro Holeshot tyres completed the build. Available in chrome or blue, it provided genuine Haro identity without unnecessary full-sized freestyle complexity.

The first two characters KH is the factory code. The next character is year of production. 5 = 1995, 6 = 1996. Depending on the factory, production may have started around June 1995 through to May 1996.
After the year is month of production. A to L = January to December.

Made in Taiwan.
As a general rule, bikes made in Taiwan at this time had around a 5 month production lead timeline before they were delivered and sold in bike shops around the world. Generally around May of each year, factories would switch production to making models for the following year.
