New for 1996, the Haro Blammo Super joined the reshaped freestyle line as a specialised, heavy-duty alternative to the flagship Ultra. Where the Ultra’s twin-top-tube Megatube frame suited hardcore flatland and versatile street or mini-ramp riding, the Blammo Super used Haro’s compact chromoly Fatty frame for aggressive ramp work. Its catalogue rider profile targeted fearless riders going high above the halfpipe, and its 33.5-pound weight reinforced that uncompromising intent. The two models otherwise shared much of Haro’s premium equipment: a one-inch threadless chromoly Megafork, Odyssey Gyro, Kneesaver II bars, 180 mm Fusion tubular chromoly three-piece cranks and protective 44-tooth GrindDisk. Araya 7X 48-hole alloy rims, sealed-bearing Suzue hubs and 20 x 2.1 Haro Multisurface tyres provided a durable rolling package. Dia-Compe Nippon front and 990 rear U-brakes supplied control. Offered only in chrome, the Blammo Super brought an experimental frame silhouette and dedicated vert personality to Haro’s new-generation freestyle range.

Haro BMX serial numbers.
The first two characters KH is the factory code. The next character is year of production. 5 = 1995, 6 = 1996. Depending on the factory, production may have started around June 1995 through to May 1996.
After the year is month of production. A to L = January to December.

Made in Taiwan.
As a general rule, bikes made in Taiwan at this time had around a 5 month production lead timeline before they were delivered and sold in bike shops around the world. Generally around May of each year, factories would switch production to making models for the following year.
