The 1998 Diamond Back Viper BMX features a chromoly main frame with oversized tubing, TIG welding, and double-thick dropouts for added strength, paired with a hi-ten fork using 1-1/4” blades. It comes fitted with handlebars offering an 8-1/2” rise in chrome, held by an alloy four-bolt stem. Braking is handled by Pro-Max alloy linear-pull brakes with matching lever, while the drivetrain uses a DB 175mm crank in chrome with a DB quick-change 44-tooth chainwheel, also in chrome, matched to DB resin pedals with 1/2” axles. The wheelset consists of alloy 20x1.75” 36-hole rims, alloy hubs, and 14-gauge spokes, wrapped in Comp III-style tyres (20x2.125” front, 20x1.75” rear). Comfort comes via a DB padded seat with a chrome steel 25.4mm seatpost. Finish options were full chrome, or flat grey, blue, or orange — each paired with a chrome fork.
