Introduced for 1996 alongside the Group 1 Elite 24, the Haro Group 1 Si 24 helped establish Haro’s first 24-inch cruiser presence in the race catalogue. It translated the Si formula into a larger-wheeled platform for cruiser-class racers and older riders chasing local mains. The double-butted chromoly V-bar monostay frame used a 21.75-inch top tube, 73.3-degree head angle and 69.3-degree seat angle, creating a longer, steadier layout than the 20-inch Si. A threadless 1⅛-inch chromoly fork and Fusion clamp-on stem gave it a modern front end. Equipment included 6061-T6 alloy Race Lite cruiser bars, a 180 mm chromoly one-piece crank, 40-tooth Fusion Disk Drive and alloy bear-trap pedals. Haro 36-hole alloy rims, ACS fat hubs and 24 x 1.75 Holeshot tyres formed its cruiser wheelset, with a Tektro cantilever handling braking. At 25.1 pounds, the chrome Si 24 offered a more affordable chromoly counterpart to the aluminium, three-piece-crank Elite 24.

The first character K is the factory code. The next two characters are the model SI. The next character is year of production. 5 = 1995, 6 = 1996. Depending on the factory, production may have started around June 1995 through to May 1996.
After the year is month of production. A to L = January to December.

Made in Taiwan.
As a general rule, bikes made in Taiwan at this time had around a 5 month production lead timeline before they were delivered and sold in bike shops around the world. Generally around May of each year, factories would switch production to making models for the following year.
