Like Gary Turners first steel frame, GT continues 10 push CrMo to its limits. With new developments in CrMo tubing, GT can use expanded tube diameters and thinner walls to shave weight and increase stiffness. The U.S.A.-built 1998 Pro Series line uses this technology along with threadless steering systems, Weinmann aluminum rims and GT Mohawk hubs to create the fastest CrMo race bikes available. The pro-sized handlebar on the Pro Series fits perfectly with the inverted GT Piston stem. The classic GT pierced top tube is still used on the CrMo Pro Series bike.
